Bob Ojeda came within three outs of a no-hitter but needed help from Mark Clear in the ninth inning to save the victory as the Red Sox shaded the Yankees, 2-1. The rookie southpaw's bid for a no-hitter was spoiled by pinch-hitter Rick Cerone's leadoff double in the bottom of the ninth. [The Sporting News]
