Atlanta errors enabled the Giants to defeat the Braves, 4-2. The Giants loaded the bases in the first inning on an error by shortstop Rafael Ramirez, a walk and an error by third baseman Bob Horner. Milt May drew a two-out walk to force in one run and Jerry Martin followed with a two-run single. Martin also tripled in the fourth and scored on Johnnie LeMaster's squeeze bunt.

The Braves played the game under protest after a double play in the third inning in which two Braves were on third base at the same time. Enos Cabell tagged the second runner, Claudell Washington, out and then when the first runner, Brett Butler, stepped off the bag, Cabell tagged him out too. [The Sporting News]
