A three-run rally in the eighth inning carried the Twins to their seventh straight victory, 6-3 over the Blue Jays. The winning surge began with a two-out double by John Castino. Jerry Garvin replaced Jim Clancy on the hill for the Jays and issued an intentional walk to pinch-hitter Roy Smalley.

Garvin then gave way to Roy Lee Jackson, who uncorked a wild pitch and intentionally walked pinch-hitter Gary Ward to load the bases. Pinch-hitter Glenn Adams then walked to force in one run and Ron Washington followed with a two-run single. [The Sporting News]
