. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A four-run outburst in the sixth inning carried the Giants to an 8-4 triumph over the Dodgers. With the game tied, 4-4, Darrell Evans and Larry Herndon began the Giants sixth with walks, bringing on Tom Niedenfuer in relief of Dave Goltz.

Jerry Martin struck out but Milt May rapped a pinch-single to score Evans, and a single by Johnnie LeMaster registered Herndon. Pinch-hitter Max Venable grounded out and Joe Morgan received an intentional walk to load the bases. Enos Cabell then capped the rally with a two-run single to left. [The Sporting News]
