. . . where the 1970s live forever!
A two-run homer by Ben Oglivie capped a three-run outburst in the eighth inning that enabled the Brewers to shade the Tigers, 4-3, and take over first place in the A.L. East Division. With runners on first and third and one out in the eighth, Ted Simmons bounced a potential double-play grounder back to the mound.

But the ball bounced off pitcher Milt Wilcox's hand and Robin Yount scored as Alan Trammell threw out Simmons. Oglivie then followed with his round-tripper. Richie Hebner hit two homers for the Tigers, a solo shot in the fourth and two-run blast in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
