The Pirates and Cubs split a doubleheader, the Bucs taking the opener, 4-0, behind the four-hit pitching of Rick Rhoden, and the Cubs winning the nightcap, 3-1. In the first game, Bill Madlock delivered a sacrifice fly in the first inning and drove in another run with a third-inning groundout.
