. . . where the 1970s live forever!
The Brewers moved to within one triumph of the A.L. East second-half title with an 8-2 decision over the Tigers. Milwaukee took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a homer by Ben Oglivie and chased Tigers starter Dan Petry with a three-run fifth frame, markers coming on an RBI single by Yount, error by left fielder Steve Kemp and run-scoring single by Cecil Cooper. Paul Molitor drilled a two-run double and Yount added a run-scoring single in the sixth. [The Sporting News]
