. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Dave Stieb, pitching a two-hitter over 8 1/3 innings, notched his 11th victory of the season as the Blue Jays triumphed over the Mariners, 4-3. Ernie Whitt hit a solo homer to tie the score at 1-1 in the sixth stanza and John Mayberry put the Jays ahead, 2-1, with a two-out, bases-empty homer in the seventh. Al Woods followed Mayberry's blast with a double and came in on a single by Garth Iorg. Woods also singled home a ninth-inning tally. [The Sporting News]
