Tom Paciorek snapped a 0-0 tie with a single in the sixth inning and scored on a double by Carlton Fisk, leading the White Sox to a 3-2 victory over the Red Sox in Boston's home opener. Steve Kemp led off the sixth with a two-bagger, moved to third on a fly and came in on Paciorek's single.

After Harold Baines struck out, Fisk lined a double to left-center. The Pale Hose tallied their final run in the seventh on a double by Tony Bernazard. The Bosox rallied in the last of the ninth but Salome Barojas came on to get the final out of the game with a runner on third. [The Sporting News]
