Randy Jones beat the Phillies for the second time this season and surpassed his 1-8 output in 1981 already this season as the Mets won their home opener, 5-2. New York scored twice in the fourth inning when George Foster singled, Dave Kingman doubled and Hubie Brooks delivered both runners with a single.
