. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Pushing across a run in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Royals edged the Orioles, 4-3. The score was 3-3 when U.L. Washington stroked a one-out single and advanced to second on a groundout. After George Brett was walked intentionally, Amos Otis singled off the left field wall to score Washington. The game had been tied since the fifth, when the Orioles scored twice on an RBI groundout by Joe Nolan and run-scoring double by Ken Singleton. [The Sporting News]
