. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Rallying for two runs in the bottom of the ninth, the Mariners edged the A's, 4-3. The A's led, 3-2, when Richie Zisk opened the ninth with a game-tying homer. Jim Maler singled and reached second on an error by right fielder Joe Rudi.

After Al Cowens was walked intentionally and Joe Simpson sacrificed the runners along, Bud Bulling walked to load the sacks and Todd Cruz, with the infield drawn in, slapped the ball to deep short. Rob Picciolo's throw to the plate was too late. [The Sporting News]
