Homers by Joel Youngblood and Dave Kingman helped power the Mets to a 3-2 victory over the Cubs. Youngblood led off the second inning with his round-tripper and New York tallied another run in the same frame when Ron Gardenhire singled, moved to second when second baseman Bump Wills booted a grounder by Mike Scott and came in on a single by Mookie Wilson.
