Lashing out 16 hits, the Royals thumped the Indians, 11-6. K.C. broke a 4-4 tie in the fourth inning on a single by John Wathan, triple by George Brett, double by Amos Otis and a sacrifice fly by Lee May. After the Tribe cut the deficit to 7-6 on a two-run homer by Andre Thornton in the fifth, the Royals put the game away in the sixth with a four-run outburst highlighted by a two-run homer by Hal McRae.
