Spacing seven hits, Bob Welch pitched the Dodgers to their second straight shutout -- a 9-0 blanking of the Giants -- as Ron Cey led the Los Angeles attack with a homer, double, two singles and four RBIs. The Dodgers took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Mike Scioscia and added three runs in the fifth on four hits, two walks and a sacrifice fly.
