Moose Haas and Rollie Fingers combined to hurl the Brewers to a 2-1 verdict over the Rangers. Haas went eight innings and retired 15 of the last 17 batters he faced to get the victory, and Fingers pitched the ninth to gain the save. The Brewers scored in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Cecil Cooper and registered the decisive marker in the fifth when Gorman Thomas doubled, reached third on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Don Money.
