Homers by Jerry Turner, Kirk Gibson and Larry Herndon powered the Tigers to a 7-2 triumph over the Yankees, Detroit's eighth straight victory. Turner's clout came with the bases empty in the second inning and Gibson had a solo blast in the fourth. Herndon connected with two aboard in the sixth. [The Sporting News]
