Completing the three-game series sweep, the Royals defeated the Indians, 6-3. The Royals took the lead for good in the third inning on a solo homer by George Brett and an RBI double by Hal McRae. Tom Poquette delivered a sacrifice fly in the fourth and the Royals put the game away in the fifth on Lee May's two-run homer, his first home run since July, 1980, when he played for Baltimore.
