A bases-loaded triple by Willie Upshaw keyed a four-run rally in the third inning that propelled the Blue Jays to an 8-4 triumph over the Rangers. Toronto was trailing, 3-1, when Damaso Garcia led off the bottom of the third with a single and went to second on a single by Rance Mulliniks.

After the runners moved up on a wild pitch, Al Woods walked to fill the bases. Upshaw then clubbed his three-bagger and subsequently scored on a sacrifice fly by John Mayberry. Alfredo Griffin and Garth Iorg stroked RBI singles in the seventh stanza. [The Sporting News]
