. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The A's and Orioles divided a doubleheader, the A's winning the opener, 6-2, behind the five-hit pitching of Mike Norris, and the Orioles capturing the nightcap, 5-1, as Scott McGregor tossed a five-hitter. In the first game, the A's Cliff Johnson broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning with a two-run homer and Dwayne Murphy, who had singled home two runs in the second inning, drilled a solo round-tripper in the seventh.

In the second game, the Orioles' John Lowenstein cracked a two-run homer in the first inning and Eddie Murray, whose 14-game hitting streak was stopped in the opener, smashed a bases-empty homer in the third. [The Sporting News]
