A two-run homer by Bo Diaz in the 10th inning lifted the Phillies to a 3-1 decision over the Padres as Steve Carlton went the route to earn the victory. Gary Matthews hit a solo homer in the seventh to tie the game at 1-1 and led off the 10th with a single.
