. . . where the 1970s live forever!

The Giants and Mets divided a twin bill, the Giants winning the first game, 4-3, and the Mets winning the nightcap, 2-0, to end a five-game winning streak for the Giants and a four-game losing streak for New York. Chili Davis hit a solo homer for the Giants in the first inning of the first game and Darrell Evans had a solo clout in the second inning. The Giants tallied another run later in that frame on an RBI double by Duane Kuiper.

George Foster hit a two-run homer in the first inning of the second game as Randy Jones and Neil Allen combined on the shutout. [The Sporting News]
