The first grand slam of Mike Easler's career highlighted the Pirates' 8-4 victory over the Braves. The Bucs tallied twice in the first inning on an RBI double by Dave Parker and RBI single by Jason Thompson. They loaded the bases in the third on singles by Omar Moreno and Johnny Ray and a walk to Thompson. Bill Madlock then singled home Moreno and Easler followed with his circuit clout.
