The Phils were behind, 2-1, when Manny Trillo opened the bottom of the ninth with a walk and was replaced by pinch-runner Julio Franco, who advanced to second on a sacrifice, reached third on a single by pinch-hitter Ozzie Virgil and scored while shortstop Garry Templeton was throwing out Bob Dernier at first.
