Mike Ivie's first American League homer in the first inning triggered the Tigers' 3-1 victory over the Rangers as Milt Wilcox went the route on an eight-hitter. Ivie's blow followed a two-out walk to Kirk Gibson. Detroit's final run came in the ninth on an error by second baseman Bill Stein. [The Sporting News]
