A two-run homer by Kirk Gibson with two out in the 11th inning lifted the Tigers to a 4-2 victory over the Twins. Aboard was Lynn Jones, who had singled with one out. The game was marred by two bench-clearing brawls sparked by beanball incidents. The Twins' Kent Hrbek went 0-for-5 to snap his consecutive game hitting streak at 23, three games short of the A.L. record for a rookie. [The Sporting News]
