. . . where the 1970s live forever!

In a game featuring eight homers, the Tigers completed a four-game series sweep by edging the Twins, 7-6. Larry Herndon lashed a solo round-tripper to break a 6-6 tie in the seventh inning. The Twins took a 5-0 lead in the first inning as Randy Johnson slammed a two-run homer, Tom Brunansky and John Castino drilled solo shots and Tim Laudner stroked an RBI single.

Alan Trammell unloaded a grand slam in the second inning and Mike Ivie tied the game at 5-5 with a leadoff belt in the third. Chet Lemon gave Detroit a 6-5 lead with a homer in the fourth but Dave Engle retied the game at 6-6 with a leadoff round-tripper in the sixth. [The Sporting News]
