. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Bob Stanley pitched 8 1/3 innings of three-hit relief as the Red Sox came from behind to down the A's, 7-4. The score was 4-4 when Carl Yastrzemski doubled in the eighth inning and was replaced by pinch-runner Reid Nichols, who went to third as Carney Lansford flied out, and scored on a single by Dave Stapleton. A double by Rich Gedman plated Stapleton and a double by Rick Miller chased Gedman home. [The Sporting News]
