John Mayberry went 3-for-4 and drove in the tie-breaking runs to pace the Yankees to their fifth straight victory, a 4-2 decision over the Twins. The game was tied, 1-1, when the Yanks loaded the bases with one out in the seventh inning on a double by Andre Robertson and walks to Dave Collins and Oscar Gamble. Mayberry then drilled a single to center to give the Yanks a 3-1 lead. Graig Nettles cracked a leadoff homer in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
