Exploding for six runs in the seventh inning, the Pirates triumphed over the Dodgers, 9-3. With two out in the seventh Don Robinson and Omar Moreno singled, with a double by Lee Lacy scoring both runners to break a 2-2 tie.

A single by Bill Madlock played Lacy and, after Jason Thompson walked, pinch-hitter Bill Robinson delivered an RBI single. Johnny Ray then walked and Tony Pena climaxed the outburst with a two-run single. Thompson closed out the scoring in the ninth with a solo homer. [The Sporting News]
