Lou Whitaker smacked two homers to power the Tigers to a 6-4 victory over the A's. His second blast came in the ninth with Lance Parrish aboard via a single and snapped a 4-4 tie. Whitaker's first circuit smash led off the third inning. The A's had knotted the score in the seventh when Kevin Saucier uncorked two straight wild pitches. [The Sporting News]
