Charlie Puleo allowed six hits and struck out 10 in 7 2/3 innings and John Stearns drove in three runs as the Mets defeated the Braves, 10-4. Stearns singled and scored in the first inning, singled home a fourth-inning run and doubled home a pair of runs in a four-run sixth. Ellis Valentine belted a two-run homer in the eighth.
