Kansas City broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning on RBI singles by John Wathan and Amos Otis. Quisenberry entered the game in the seventh inning and, after yielding a single to Ron LeFlore that put runners on first and third, picked LeFlore off first and then got two groundouts to end the Sox' threat.
