. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Randy Bass went 4-for-4 and drove in two runs to lead the Rangers to a 4-3 victory over the White Sox, Chicago's seventh straight loss. The Rangers took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single by Bass and a run-scoring fielder's choice grounder by Johnny Grubb. They added two more runs in the fifth on RBI singles by Buddy Bell and Bass. The Sox picked up three runs in the ninth, two coming on a homer by Tom Paciorek, but the rally fell short as Paul Mirabella came on to gain the save. [The Sporting News]
