. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A double by Jim Sundberg in the eighth inning drove home the winning run as the Rangers edged the White Sox, 5-4. With the game tied, 4-4, Mark Wagner stroked a two-out single, moved to third on a single by George Wright and tallied on Sundberg's two-bagger.

The Rangers had knotted the count in the seventh when Sox reliever Jerry Koosman uncorked a wild pitch with Lamar Johnson on third. Dave Schmidt, despite making a throwing error that permitted two runs to score, was credited with his first victory of the season. [The Sporting News]
