A three-run rally in the bottom of the ninth inning gave the Astros a 7-6 triumph over the Phillies. Dickie Thon singled and went to third on a double by Alan Knicely. After Warren Brusstar replaced Sparky Lyle on the hill for the Phils, Danny Heep drilled a pinch-single to drive in two runs and tie the score. Terry Puhl followed with a single and, one out later, Jose Cruz walked to load the bases. Phil Garner then singled off Brusstar's glove as Heep raced home with the winning run.
