Bruce Kison twirled a five-hitter in a route-going performance and Reggie Jackson hit a homer as the Angels defeated the Brewers, 4-2, to take a 2-0 lead in games in the A.L. pennant playoff. The Angels loaded the bases in the second inning on a single by Fred Lynn, double by Doug DeCinces and a hit batsman.

Tim Foli then singled home Lynn and Bob Boone delivered DeCinces with a squeeze bunt. Mr. October homered over the center field fence in the third and California picked up its final run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Boone. [The Sporting News]
