A two-run homer by Paul Molitor provided the winning margin as the Brewers kept their pennant hopes alive by defeating the Angels, 5-3, to reduce California's lead in the Championship Series to two games to one.

The Brewers broke out to a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning when Robin Yount walked and scored on a double by Cecil Cooper, who reached third on a single by Ted Simmons and came home on a sacrifice fly by Gorman Thomas. A single by Ben Oglivie then sent Simmons to third, from where he scored on a sacrifice fly by Don Money. Molitor belted his round-tripper in the seventh with Marshall Edwards, pinch-running for Money, who had walked, on base. [The Sporting News]
