Mark Brouhard, in the game only because of an injury to regular left fielder Ben Oglivie, had three hits including a two-run homer, three runs batted in and four runs scored to spark the Brewers to a 9-5 triumph over the Angels, evening the A.L. Championshp Series at two games apiece.

Brouhard singled home the first marker of a three-run second inning. The other two tallies came in on throwing errors by California center fielder Fred Lynn and third baseman Doug DeCinces following Brouhard's hit. California starter Tommy John made three wild pitches, including two in the fourth inning when Milwaukee registered three runs. Don Baylor belted a grand slam in the eighth but Brouhard responded with a two-run round-tripper in the bottom of the frame to ice the game. [The Sporting News]
