Willie McGee drilled a two-run triple to highlight a four-run second inning and added a solo homer in the ninth to pace the Cardinals to a 6-2 triumph over Atlanta, completing the three-game Championship Series sweep for St. Louis and giving the Redbirds their first pennant since 1968.

Keith Hernandez opened the second stanza with a single, went to second as Darrell Porter walked and scored on a single by George Hendrick. McGee's three-bagger then plated Porter and Hendrick, and McGee tallied on a single by Ozzie Smith. [The Sporting News]
