Unitas, who completed 23 of 40, moved the Colts 76 yards in two plays late in the game. The Bears intercepted him five times, capitalizing on four of those to score.

Terry Bradshaw fired two touchdown passes and Terry Hanratty one as the Steelers upset the Browns and precipitated a three-way tie in the AFC Central Division. The Browns were limited to three field goals by Don Cockroft although Mike Phipps replaced Bill Nelsen with ten minutes left and led the Browns to the three-yard line. The staunch Pittsburgh defense limited Leroy Kelly to zero yards net rushing in ten carries.
