Willis Crenshaw registered the tying touchdown with less than two minutes remaining to give the Broncos their first deadlock and San Diego their third of the 1970 campaign. Denver trailed 17-0 at the half, but a 53-yard field goal by Bobby Howfield in the third period and a one-yard run by Clem Turner in the fourth got the Broncos back into the game. Gary Garrison got his twelfth touchdown pass from John Hadl and Willie Frazier recovered a fumble by Mike Garrett in the end zone for the other Charger six pointer.
