For the second straight week, Chicago quarterback Kent Nix came off the bench in the final period to pass the Bears to victory. On his first play, Nix passed 36 yards to Dick Gordon for a touchdown to narrow Minnesota's lead to 17-10. Following a 45-yard field goal by Mac Percival, Nix hit Gordon again for a 19-yard TD with 1:42 left.
