Larry Csonka's 118 yards helped pace defending AFC Champion Miami to a 20-10 victory over Kansas City in a rematch of the 1971 AFC Divisional Playoff, pro football's longest game in which the Dolphins defeated the Chiefs after 22 minutes and 40 seconds of sudden-death overtime. The Dolphins victory, which marked the first regular season game played in the new stadium, was aided by the key interceptions of Jake Scott and Mike Kolen that set up two of Miami's scores.
