Tim Van Galder, starting at quarterback in his first regular NFL game, set up St. Louis' winning TD with a 71-yard third quarter pass to TE Jackie Smith. Donny Anderson took it in from the 4-yard line. Larry Wilson intercepted a Johnny Unitas pass on the St. Louis 2-yard line in the fourth quarter to help stave off the Colts, and Bob Rowe blocked two field goals.
