NFL game summary for 09/24/1972:

Raider safety Jack Tatum scooped up a ball fumbled by Packer MacArthur Lane into the end zone and raced 104 yards for a record touchdown, and a pass interference penalty set up Charlie Smith's one-yard winning TD in this interconference game. Tatum's fumble return erased the oldest record in the NFL, 98 yards with a fumble by George Halas, owner of the Chicago Bears, who did it vs. Marion (Ohio) on November 4, 1923.
