Tommy Casanova's fourth-period interception set up a seven-yard TD pass from Ken Anderson to Speedy Thomas to move Cincinnati to a 23-16 victory over the Chiefs. Kansas City reserve QB Mike Livingston started but had to leave when he pulled up with a hamstring, and was replaced by veteran Len Dawson. It was the first time in 11 starts that Livingston failed to win. WR Otis Taylor caught 10 passes for 149 yards for the Chiefs.
