Dallas stayed atop the NFC's Eastern Division with a victory highlighted by Craig Morton's effort of 22 completions in 30 attempts for 279 yards and two TDs. It was the first time the Colts had been shut out since 1965 and the last game in which Don McCafferty served as head coach. He was replaced the next day by John Sandusky, the Colts' defensive line coach.
