On the next play, Larry Brown raced for his second touchdown. Brown set a Washington club record for one game rushing, 191 yards, and lifted his season total to 841 yards with his fifth 100-yard performance. The Redskins lost Sonny Jurgensen for the season as he suffered a torn Achilles tendon. Billy Kilmer replaced Jurgensen in the first half.
