NFL game summary for 09/30/1973:

Rookie Chuck Foreman and Ed Marinaro carried the heavy offensive burden but three field goals by Fred Cox and a safety provided all the points for the Vikings in a bruising defensive battle. Foreman rushed for 89 yards and Marinaro for 83 and the two RBs caught nine of Fran Tarkenton's 12 completions. Chester Marcol, who missed from the 34 and 37, kicked a 42-yard FG for the Pack. ?It was a couple of heavyweights slugging it out,? said Vikings coach Bud Grant.
